Growth Managed Hosting
Foundation plus the edge, and plus a place to try things first. A CDN and a web application firewall in front of your site, managed and retuned as traffic changes rather than left on defaults; security patching driven by advisories instead of waiting for the monthly window; a performance pass every month; and a staging environment so a change can be rehearsed before customers meet it.
What you get
- Everything in Foundation: managed server, patching, nightly off-site backups, uptime and certificate monitoring
- Production and one staging environment, so a change can be tried somewhere before it is tried on customers
- CDN and WAF in front of your origin, tuned on your real traffic and retuned as false positives turn up
- Security patching driven by advisories rather than the calendar, plus a monthly performance pass with the before and after numbers
- Priority position in the support queue, so your request is picked up before the general queue in business hours
What this does not cover
- Application code changes — see Software maintenance
- Anyone answering outside business hours. Monitoring watches around the clock on every tier and will alert us, but the first tier where a person picks up at nine on a Sunday is Business Critical
- Quarterly resilience testing — at this tier nobody rehearses a restore or a failover on a schedule, which is Business Critical
- Standing DDoS protection beyond what the CDN filters by default, which is DDoS Mitigation Standby in Security and risk
- A penetration test or a formal security review, both in Security and risk
Who it fits
A site or application where an hour of downtime costs real money and the traffic is no longer flat. If nothing you run breaks outside office hours and there is no CDN or firewall to manage, Foundation Managed Hosting does the same hosting for $100 a month and you would not feel the difference.
